Corinne's Banana Bread

Print Friendly and PDF

This is one of those tried and true banana bread recipes that turns out so perfectly moist and delicious every time you make it. This recipe makes two loaves, which will disappear quickly. So good! Another recipe stolen from Corinne Gooden's recipe cupboard.

5 large bananas
4 eggs
1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
1 cup milk
3-1/2 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup walnuts, chopped

Mash bananas and mix with eggs, shortening and sugar. Add milk. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda and salt. Add dry ingredients to banana mixture and stir just until blended. Add walnuts. Place batter in 5” x 8” loaf pans. Bake at 300 degrees for 75 minutes. Makes 2 loaves.
