Corinne's Teriyaki Chicken

This is Stephen's and my very favorite teriyaki chicken recipe. It comes from my dear buddy, Corinne Gooden, pictured here with hubby, Bill Lemire of Bainbridge Island. This is the only teriyaki chicken recipe I use, as it can't be beat. The sauce is so good over rice. You'll love this one!

6 chicken thighs
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
1 clove garlic, crushed

Mix sauce ingredients together. Cook in a large covered skillet over high heat for 10 min. Turn chicken only once while covered. Next, uncover the chicken and reduce heat to medium low and cook for an additional 25-30 min. turning often until done. If sauce boils down, add a little water. Pour the sauce and drippings from the pan onto the chicken before serving.
