Bill's Oreo Ice Cream Pie

I first had this at Bill Lemire's house on Bainbridge Island. This recipe is so easy to cooking or baking. You just layer and freeze the ingredients. I have doubled and tripled this recipe for large parties using a 9x12 pan. Sometimes I put a thick chocolate ganache on top instead of the Hershey's syrup. Your guests will love this one!

1/2 pkg Oreo cookies
½ gallon vanilla, coffee-flavored or peppermint ice cream, partially melted
1/2 stick of butter, melted
1 can Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup or Fudge Topping

Crush the cookies. Melt butter and mix with cookies. Press into bottom of buttered pie plate. Pour softened ice cream into crust. Re-freeze for an hour until the ice cream firms up. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the pie before serving. Garnish with chopped nuts or additional crushed Oreos, if desired.
